I first met Michael Anderson a few years ago in a somewhat unexpected way. What immediately stood out was how interested he was in learning about new products and understanding what could be done differently. We met, discussed specialty ceiling systems, lighting and different possibilities, and those conversations eventually developed into several real projects together.
When Michael first learned about Space Ceiling, he wanted to understand more than just what a stretch ceiling was. He was interested in what the systems could actually do and where they could create something different inside a project.
We discussed stretch ceilings, integrated perimeter lighting, fiber optic star ceilings, reflective finishes and other possibilities that could become part of the space rather than simply another finish.
That interest eventually turned into real collaboration on several projects.
The best projects often start with someone asking a simple question: what else is possible?
Space Ceiling on working with HAUS Interiors
Custom Kids Room · Calgary
One of the projects we completed together was a custom kids room where the ceiling became an important part of the overall space.
Space Ceiling installed a white stretch ceiling with fiber optic stars. During the day the ceiling stays bright and clean, while at night the fiber optic system changes the atmosphere of the room.
We also installed integrated perimeter lighting around the ceiling, giving the room another lighting option and a completely different look when the perimeter light is turned on.
Built with HAUS Interiors as general contractor.
Another collaboration took us in a completely different direction with the Springbank Luxury Basement .
Here the design called for something darker and much more reflective.
Space Ceiling installed a glossy black stretch ceiling, creating a mirror-like surface that adds depth and reflects the lighting and the rest of the interior.
It shows how different the same ceiling system can look from one project to another. In the kids room it is bright and playful. In the basement it becomes a dark reflective feature.

After working with Michael, I also had the opportunity to understand more about the way HAUS Interiors approaches its projects.
What stands out to me is their willingness to explore products and solutions that may not be familiar yet, while still making sure they fit naturally into the rest of the project.
That matters with specialty ceiling systems because the work often requires coordination between the general contractor, electrician, designer and specialty installer.
What I appreciate about Michael is his interest in understanding new products before deciding where they might add real value to a project.
Aivaras Mulskis · Space CeilingThe kids room and Springbank basement show two very different ways a specialty ceiling can be used. In both cases, the ceiling was considered as part of the project rather than something added at the end.

I am very happy with the projects we have completed together and hope we have the opportunity to create more projects in Calgary. The best results usually come when builders and specialists are involved early enough to work through the details together.
Our showroom is currently in a soft opening phase. We are offering limited private appointments for those interested in experiencing our ceiling and lighting systems and speaking directly with a professional.
