Great projects happen when the right people bring different expertise to the same table.
Our relationship with Aray Licensed Interior Design Studio, a Calgary interior design and project management studio founded by Annette Guercio, was not created as a marketing partnership. We first crossed paths on a Calgary healthcare project, then years later found ourselves working together again. That history is what makes the collaboration meaningful to us.
Our professional relationship with Annette began during our work on the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC) at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary.
At the time, Annette was working with another organization. It was our first opportunity to see how she approached design, coordination and the people responsible for bringing a project together.
Years later, our paths crossed again — this time through Aray Design Studio.
Good collaboration is not about everyone knowing everything. It is about bringing the right expertise into the conversation at the right time.
Space Ceiling — on working with Aray Design StudioOur recent collaboration on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints project in Calgary brought our teams together again on a very different kind of space.
The interior included an architectural dome that called for a custom visual treatment. Aray carried the broader interior design vision, while our role was to help translate that vision into the finished dome feature.
The result came from different areas of expertise working toward the same goal — protecting the design intent while making the feature real.
What stands out to us about Annette and Aray is the way they look at the complete environment — not only how a space appears, but how it functions, how people experience it and how the professionals around the table need to work together.
That way of thinking matters most when a project is unique, technically demanding or has no obvious off-the-shelf answer.
Our experience working with Annette has shown us the value of thoughtful design leadership, clear communication and genuine collaboration.
